What You Need to Know

Standard printers not meeting all of your printing needs? Whether you’re looking to streamline your wide-format printing turnaround times or save some money from outsourcing on ever-increasing printing costs to increasing the security of confidential documents and flexibility to print on a variety of rigid and flexible materials - a large-format printer may be the new game-changer in your office.

Have a question not answered below or don’t know where to begin? Give us a call! We’re always happy to help you innov8.

Will I really save money with a wide-format printer?

While wide-format printing is undoubtedly a big investment, a third party will charge you a higher cost for your printing needs than what you can achieve on your own. Therefore, if you have a significant amount of wide format printing needs, the cost savings will eventually pay for the initial cost of the printer and consumables.

I’m overwhelmed with options. How do I pick the one that’s right for us?

innov8 Digital Solutions can help! We work with you to help diagnose the best solution for your business. We can even monitor your ink and toner levels remotely and bring you new supplies as needed! In fact, one of our clients saved $30,000 in their first year after switching to innov8 Digital Solutions!

What if I’m not confident in maintaining a high-end printer?

innov8 employs personable, skilled technicians in locations across British Columbia so that help is always just a phone call away. Let us take care of your office equipment servicing and maintenance so that you can spend your time taking care of business. If you need additional help, we also offer Managed Print Services to monitor and control your business printing, helping you save money, decrease your environmental footprint, and improve your document security.

How large can I print?

Depending on the model, large-format printers are capable of printing on a maximum print roll width of between 18-inches and 100-inches.

What types of materials can we print on?

You can print directly on numerous rigid and soft, flexible materials. Metal, plastics, vinyl, wood, canvas, foam-core, gatorboard, mesh, acrylic, fabric, large-format paper or even glass depending on the make and model.

How long does a wide-format printer typically last?

Though large-format printers are built to be workhorses—and indeed, their average lifespan exceeds that of standard inkjet printers—they’re not quite immune to the ravages of time. No matter how well you maintain your organization’s large format printer, once it reaches its sixth, seventh or eighth year, you’ll likely start to see a decline in performance and an uptick in potentially costly service calls.
